OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. Madelynn McIlwain and Kal Holliday made Southern Oregon University history Saturday by becoming the Raiders' first ever Women's College Wrestling Association All-Americans.

On the final day of the WCWA Championships at Abe Lemons Arena, four Raiders started with make-or-break matches that would decide their All-American fates: Jessica DeHart (109 pounds), Alejandra Rodriguez (130), McIlwain (116) and Holliday (130). Holliday went on to place sixth, McIlwain was eighth, and DeHart and Rodriguez nearly made SOU 4-for-4 but dropped elimination heartbreakers by tied scores that were decided on criteria.

Still, the Raiders will end the program's first season with more hardware than was expected. They also finished 11th of 25 in the team standings.

McIlwain – who on Friday was the only Raider to reach the quarterfinals before getting redirected to the consolation bracket – sealed her spot in SOU lore with a pin of Oklahoma City's Ashlyn White in just 39 seconds. In the next round, fifth-ranked Shelby Morrison of Oklahoma City pinned her in 3:32, and seventh-ranked Dajan Treder of Jamestown defeated McIlwain 11-0 in the seventh-place match.

Holliday – who won three consolation matches Friday after getting knocked out in the third championship round – upset sixth-ranked Koral Sugiyama of Campbellsville with an 8-6 decision to move on. Fifth-ranked Rosemary Flores of Campbellsville pinned her in the consolation semifinals in 1:21, and 10th-ranked Axa Molina won the fifth-place match with a 12-2 technical fall.

DeHart nearly pulled off an upset of McKendree's seventh-ranked Tayler Resuriz, but Resuriz moved on because she was the last one to score in a 1-1 tie.

Rodriguez also locked up with Molina for a 10-10 tie but was eliminated in the same fashion. On Friday, Rodriguez had won by fall four times and by technical fall once to reach that point.
