Ioppolo takes title, 3 more Raiders place at Spokane Open

COMPLETE SPOKANE OPEN RESULTS

SPOKANE, Wash.
– Freshman Olivia Ioppolo won the 116-pound title to lead four Southern Oregon University top-three placers Sunday at the Spokane Open.

Ioppolo, competing in a 116 round robin, went 4-1 on the day and started with three falls – pinning Warner Pacific's Katy Funai in 44 seconds, Southwestern Oregon's Kacy Holmregen in 1:06 and Faser Valley's Ashley Coupal in 3:46. She also won by injury default, and in her final match was pinned by WPC's Chelsey Chaves.

Jade Martin was the 101 runner-up and reached the championship match with an 18-6 technical fall against Grays Harbor's Julian Yates and an injury default. She closed with an 11-0 loss to Grays Harbor's Cecilia Saavedra.

Alejandra Rodriguez (130) and Sienna Ramirez (143) checked in with third-place showings for the Raiders. Rodriguez went 4-1, with a pin against Southwestern Oregon's Sierra Jones in 27 seconds and a 10-0 technical fall over Pacific's Elsa Duenez to reach the semifinals. There, she was sent to the consolation bracket with a 6-4 loss against Fraser Valley's Karla Godinez, but she bounced back with a 10-9 decision over Jones and a 12-2 technical fall against Fraser Valley's Aliocha Perriard in the third-place match.

Ramirez went 2-1. After receiving a bye to the semifinals, she lost by technical fall to Grays Harbor's Desiree Zavala before closing with consecutive pins – in 24 seconds against Grays Harbor's Megan Gonzalez and in 5:24 against Simon Fraser's Chloe Rogers.

The Raiders will compete next in a dual at Umpqua Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

FRIDAY'S RESULTS: EASTERN OREGON 27, SOUTHERN OREGON 21
 LA GRANDE – Southern Oregon dropped a dual match at Eastern Oregon, 27-21, on Friday at Quinn Coliseum. Results were not immediately made available.

Only five weight classes were contested, and Sienna Ramirez picked up SOU's only win in those matches with a pin of Renay Monohan at 143 pounds. The result dropped the Raiders to 0-3 in duals this season.
