Three-straight late victories helped the Black team to a 33-21 victory over the Red team in the annual Southern Oregon University Red and Black Intrasquad wrestling dual tonight at McNeal Pavilion.

The Black team featured mostly returners, while the Red team featured many of the program's newcomers.

Shaun Ceremello (Clovis, Calif./Clovis) (174 pounds), fifth-ranked Chase Locke (Tualatin, Ore./West Linn) (197) and John Harrison (Susanville, Calif./Lassen) (Hwt) scored back-to-back-to-back victories to turn a close dual into a victory in favor of the Black team.

The action featured a pair of falls. Second-ranked Heavyweight John Bates (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) scored a fall of Matt Klimek (Oceanside, Calif./Carlsbad) in 30 seconds and Seth Roy (Sherwood, Ore./Sherwood) pinned Anthony Ough (Veneta, Ore./Elmira) in 3:48.

Second-ranked Barry Johnson (Dayton, Ore./Dayton) (141) and fourth-ranked Trevor Lofstedt (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) (133) joined Locke and Bates as all four of SOU's ranked wrestlers were victorious.

"We tried to mix it up to try and get the younger guy some wins," SOU Head Coach Mike Ritchey said. "Guys that were aggressive tonight went out and won and that's something that we've been stressing in practice."

The Raiders open up the regular season Nov. 16 when they take part in the University of Pacific Open.
