SOU-CUI Boxscore

The third-ranked Cocordia (Calif.) volleyball team hit an impressive .400 attack percentage to score a 25-7, 25-16, 25-15 victory over 12th-ranked Southern Oregon today at Concordia's Crowne Plaza Labor Day Festival.

CUI improved to 4-0 on the season. SOU fell to 1-3 on the year. The three setbacks have come at the hands of top-ranked Fresno Pacific (twice) and third-ranked Concordia. SOU faces 21st-ranked Vanguard tonight.

Samanta Yutzie led SOU with six kills and Leah Bergstrom (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) recorded five kills. Lindsey Stone (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) had a match-high 14 kills for SOU. Amber Ridens had eight kills for Concordia.

CUI wasted little time jumping on the Raiders, bolting out to a 17-2 advantage in the first set.

The two teams were tied at 11-11 in the second set before CUI used a 6-1 run to put the set away.

In the third set, SOU took a 13-12 lead on a CUI attack error and then trailed by just one at 15-14 before CUI closed out the match on a 10-1 run.

Maggie Rivers (Salem, Ore./McNary) finished with 12 digs for the Raiders.
