Chelsea Hartman (Lebanon, Ore./Lebanon) and
Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) helped 13th-ranked Southern Oregon down Eastern Oregon 17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 during today's semifinal match of the Cascade Conference postseason tournament in Caldwell, Idaho.
Southern Oregon improved to 24-2 on the season and will face College of Idaho in tomorrow's 3 p.m .(MST) final. Southern Oregon has won 15 straight.
Eastern Oregon finishes the season 15-9.
Hartman finished with 15 kills and Stennett had 13 kills to go along with 19 digs.
Becky Johnstone (Lake Arrowhead, Calif./Rim of the World) had a match-high 31 digs.
Eastern Oregon came out and held the Raiders to a .079 attack percentage and won the opening set, snapping SOU's streak of 22 consecutive sets won.
In the second set, a service error and kills by
Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) and Hartman broke an 18-18 as the Raiders scored the final eight points of the set.
In the third set, Eastern led 13-10 before SOU went on a 10-3 run to take control of the set.
SOU wrapped up the match by holding Eastern Oregon to a .095 attack percentage in the final set.
Megan Bartling (Medford, Ore./North Medford) and Holgen both had seven kills for the Raiders.
Heather Porter (Coos Bay, Ore./Marshfield) had a hand in 10 blocks, while Bartling and Holgen both had six each.
Caryn Westrick (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake) had 23 assists and
Angela Spieker (Bremerton, Wash./Central Kitsap) finished with 20 assists.
Eastern Oregon was led by Jessica Lea's match-high 17 kills.
