The top-ranked Southern Oregon wrestling team will give fans a preview of the 2009-10 season with the annual Red and Black Intrasquad dual Wednesday night.

The dual starts at McNeal Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.

The Raiders are ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Preseason Top 20 poll and are coming off a 2008-09 campaign that saw them win the NAIA National Dual Championship and finish second at the NAIA National Championships.

The intrasquad will feature seven nationally ranked wrestlers. Defending National Champion Chris Platt (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) is ranked No. 1 at 184 pounds, as is Mitchell Lofstedt (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) (125) and John Bates (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) (Hwt.).

Barry Johnson (Dayton, Ore./Dayton) (141) and Tommie Hooper (Burns, Ore./Burns) (157) are both ranked second in the NAIA. Ronald Lee (Central Point, Ore./Crater) is ranked seventh at 197 and Kris Spencer (Boring, Ore./Sam Barlow) is ranked 10th at 165.

The dual will feature between 15 and 20 matches, with each match only lasting four minutes.
