Southern Oregon University introduced its new mascot - Rocky The Raider at Tuesday night's Raider Madness at McNeal.

The mascot will be featured at SOU home athletic events, around campus and around the Ashland Community and the name Rocky was picked in a vote by SOU students.

Raider Madness was a kickoff for the men's and women's basketball seasons that start Cascade Conference play Friday and Saturday at home.

The night featured introductions of both SOU basketball teams, a slam dunk and 3-point competition, raffles, a dance competition and the unveiling of the new mascot.
