No. 24 RAIDER VOLLEYBALL (18-8, 10-6 CCC)
6 p.m. Friday – at Evergreen (Wash. (2-18, 1-15) | Stream | Stats
4 p.m. Saturday – at Northwest (Wash.) (7-18, 3-13) | Stream | Stats
HEADLINES: How close is SOU to locking up an NAIA National Tournament bid for the fourth time in five seasons? Last week's sweep of No. 5 College of Idaho (which went on this week to sweep No. 2 Eastern Oregon) presumably did wonders on that front, and reaching the 20-win mark on the road would further solidify the Raiders' case. They'll try to do it against the ninth- and 10th-place teams in the conference, having only lost one match against an unranked opponent this season. They swept Evergreen and beat Northwest in four sets the first time around in CCC play. The Raiders are in fifth place – to wins back of third – entering the penultimate weekend of the regular season, which they'll close at home next Friday and Saturday against No. 6 Corban and Bushnell.
No. 2 RAIDER MEN'S WRESTLING
9 a.m. Saturday – at Simpson (Calif.) Duals | Tournament Central
HEADLINES: The Raiders will attempt to stack a handful of dual wins on the first day of the 2026-27 season – facing Hope International (Calif.), Westcliff (Calif.), Menlo (Calif.), Simpson (Calif.) and Evergreen (Wash.) all in an eight-hour span, with several wrestlers on hand to keep the lineup fresh in Redding. Expectations haven't been this high since the last time SOU was considered to be in the mix of national championship contenders over a decade ago: The Raiders' preseason No. 2 ranking is their highest in 12 years, and they have eight individuals who are ranked among the top-10 in their weight classes. They're coming off back-to-back Cascade Conference championships and a seventh-place finish at the NAIA Championships, boasting 10 individuals on the roster (and four All-Americans) who have previously qualified for the national tournament under seventh-year coach
Joel Gibson.
RAIDER WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (0-2)
1 p.m. Saturday – vs. No. 24 Carroll (Mont.) | Stream | Stats
1 p.m. Sunday – vs. Park Gilbert (Ariz.) | Stream | Stats
HEADLINES: Despite a pair of opening-week losses, the young Raiders had some encouraging developments last week against two reputable Frontier Conference opponents – taking Montana State-Northern to overtime and leading No. 12-ranked Rocky Mountain (Mont.) late in the third quarter before falling.
Keeley Wright, SOU's table-setting and defense-first senior point guard, showed the most progress with the two highest scoring totals of her career, 19 and 20 points, in addition to eight assists and five steals. The Raiders play this weekend in Lewiston, Idaho, at the LC State Classic. Their first opponent, No. 24 Carroll (Mont.), is another one of the toughest on the schedule and defeated two CCC teams last week.
RAIDER FOOTBALL (3-5, 2-2 FC West)
5 p.m. Saturday – at Carroll (Mont.) (6-1, 3-0) | Stream | Stats
HEADLINES: The Raiders won't be Frontier West Division champions, but the road to the title goes through them in their last two games of the season as they face the co-leaders. They play Saturday at No. 12 Carroll and, following a bye week, wrap at home against No. 2 College of Idaho. They're coming off a feel-good, 24-17 win against Arizona Christian that
Jackson Buckingham sealed by making a goal-line interception with just over a minute left. It was SOU's fifth consecutive game and sixth of the season decided by seven or fewer points. As they fight to get back to .500 as a spoiler, the Raiders will see a Saints team that they last defeated in Helena eight years ago. Carroll is outscoring its opponents by an average of 29 points (43-14) behind senior quarterback Kaden Huot, a Montana transfer who has thrown for 17 touchdowns and only three interceptions while completing 66% of his attempts. Huot logged five TD passes in last year's 41-40 Saints win in Ashland, the last to put his team in front with 56 seconds remaining.
