Top-ranked and two-time defending National Champion Fresno Pacific swept host Southern Oregon 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 tonight during the opening night finale of the second annual Raider Classic.

Fresno Pacific is now 2-0 on the season and SOU fell to 1-1 on the season. Earlier this evening, Concordia defeated Oregon Tech 25-21, 13-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-11.

On Saturday, Fresno Pacific takes on Concordia at Noon and Southern Oregon faces Oregon Tech at 2 p.m.

Martina Gregusova had 14 kills and two aces to lead Fresno Pacific.

Leah Bergstrom (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) had six kills for the Raiders.

SOU tried to make a match of it in the third set. The Raiders stood toe-to-toe with the Sun Birds at 13-13 before the Sun Birds scored eight of the next nine points to put the match away.

Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) had eight digs for the Raiders.
