Southern Oregon University's official athletic department web site set a record for visits during a single day Saturday.

A total of 1,614 visitors went to www.souraiders.com.

Most of the traffic was driven by the SOU-Linfield football game. The SOU multimedia section received over 900 page views, where fans could either watch live video of the game, listen to the game or watch live stats.

Last Saturday was the previous recordholder for visits during a day at 1,460. That day featured both a home football game and a home volleyball match.

Since going live on July 28, 2008, the web site has received 233,611 visits. Since Aug. 1 of this year, the site has received over 40,000 visits - which is a 16 percent increase from last year.
