Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) went off for 20 kills as the 17th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball squad scored a 25-16, 25-15, 31-29 victory over Corban tonight in Salem.
Southern Oregon improved to 17-3 overall and 14-1 in Cascade Conference play. The Raiders travel to Northwest Christian tomorrow at 1 p.m. Corban dropped to 9-9 overall and 7-9 in conference.
Holgen finished the sweep with 20 kills and just three errors to go along with 12 digs. Senior
Leah Bergstrom (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) went for 12 kills and just one error and also had eight blocks.
Senior All-American setter
Lindsey Stone (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) finished with a match-high 39 assists, while
Becky Johnstone (Lake Arrowhead, Calif./Rim of the World) had 18 digs.
Southern Oregon cruised through the first set with leads of 18-9 and 21-11 and leads of 6-1 and 21-13 in the second set.
In the third set, the Raiders had a tough time shaking the Warriors before a kill by Bergstom and an attack error by Corban wrapped up the match.
