Lindsey Stone (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) recorded double-digits in assists and digs as the 17th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team cruised to a 25-6, 25-13, 25-18 victory over Northwest Christian this afternoon in Eugene.
Southern Oregon improved to 18-3 overall and 15-1 in conference play with the sweep. The Raiders wrap up the regular season at home next Friday and Saturday against Evergreen and Northwest. The Northwest match on Saturday has been moved to 4 p.m.
Stone recorded 33 assists to go along with 14 digs to lead the Raiders. The senior All-American also had five blocks. Junior
Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) had 13 kills and nine digs, while
Leah Bergstrom (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) finished with 10 kills.
Becky Johnstone (Lake Arrowhead, Calif./Rim of the World) led the Raiders with 15 digs, while
Natalie Scheller (Bend, Ore./Bend) had 11 and
Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) finished with 10.
The Raiders put the Beacons away early, turning a close first set into a rout. After Northwest Christian had cut the early SOU advantage to 8-6, the Raiders went on a 17-0 run to end the set and give the Raiders a 25-6 victory.
Megan Bartling (Medford, Ore./North Medford) helped the onslaught by recording eight blocks in the first set.
For the match, the Raiders held Northwest Christian to a -.038 attack percentage, including a first set in which the Beacons had two kills and 13 errors.
Cassie Bishop and Danielle Nance both had five kills for Northwest Christian.
