The 12th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team bounced back from its first conference loss of the season with a 25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 25-19 victory over Eastern Oregon tonight in La Grande.
The Raiders are now 13-3 overall and 10-1 in conference play. Eastern Oregon dropped to 10-7 overall and 6-5 in conference action.
Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) and
Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) both turned in double-doubles for the Raiders. Holgen finished with 15 kills and 13 digs, while Stennett had 15 kills and 16 digs.
Megan Bartling (Medford, Ore./North Medford) turned in 14 kills and four of SOU's 15 blocks.
All-American setter
Lindsey Stone (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) finished with a match-high 51 assists and also four blocks.
Becky Johnstone (Lake Arrowhead, Calif./Rim of the World) had 19 digs.
After splitting the first two sets, Southern Oregon got it together defensively to put the match away. The Raiders held Eastern to a .000 attack percentage in the third set and a .139 attack percentage in the fourth set for the victory.
SOU returns home next weekend for matches against Concordia and Warner Pacific.
