NAIA National Rankings

For the first time since the 2004 season, the Southern Oregon football is ranked in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll.

After starting off the season 2-0, the Raiders went from being not-ranked in the Preseason poll to No. 24 in the first edition of the regular season poll this week.

Southern Oregon defeated Simon Fraser 31-18 Saturday to improve to 2-0 for the first time since the 2001 season. The Raiders travel to nationally-ranked NCAA Division III foe Willamette this weekend.

Junior running back Brandon Baldwin (Palo Cedro, Calif./Foothill) was also honored this week, taking home the NAIA Independent Offensive Player of the Week honor. Baldwin went for 181 yards in the victory over the Clan and also scored two touchdowns.

With football now in the Top 25, four of SOU's five Fall sports are now nationally ranked for the first time in school history. SOU men's cross country is ranked second, followed by SOU volleyball (16th last week), SOU football (24th) and women's cross country (25th).
