The 14th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team remained perfect in Cascade Conference play with a 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 sweep of Corban tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
The Raiders are now 11-2 overall and 8-0 in Cascade Conference play and host arch-rival Oregon Tech Friday night at McNeal Pavilion. Corban dropped to 5-4 overall and 3-4 in conference.
Junior
Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) continued her torrid play with a match-high 15 kills to go along with nine digs.
Becky Johnstone (Lake Arrowhead, Calif./Rim of the World) led SOU with 19 digs, while
Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) finished with 13 digs.
After winning the first two sets, the Raiders had trouble shaking the Warriors in the third set. The Warriors took leads of 4-2, 8-5 and 14-12 before the Raiders rallied back.
Johnstone served for six straight points to give the Raiders an 18-15 lead and the hosts never looked back.
