The 13th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team put up some big numbers in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 sweep of Concordia tonight in Portland.
The Raiders are now 5-2 overall and 2-0 in Cascade Conference play with a home dates against Eastern Oregon and 16th-ranked College of Idaho on deck for next weekend.
Junior
Sarah Holgen (Honolulu, Hawaii/Ashland) turned in a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs. Junior middle blocker
Megan Bartling (Medford, Ore./North Medford) finished with 10 kills and no errors for a .556 attack percentage and also had five blocks. As a team, SOU came away with 15 blocks.
All-American senior setter
Lindsey Stone (Ashland, Ore./Ashland) turned in 41 assists and
Leanne Stennett (Encinitas, Calif./San Dieguito) and
Renee Yomtob (Boise, Idaho/Centennial) both had 14 digs.
Concordia looked poised for comeback against the Raiders in the third set, lead from the start and holding a 17-14 advantage before SOU went on a 6-0 run to take a 20-17 lead and never looked back.
Raluca Dinca and Erika Doremus both had 10 kills for Concordia.
