Box Score 2 EUGENE, Ore. – Southern Oregon senior
Katie Moy (Oceanside, Calif./Vista) tallied four hits to set a new career mark and the Raiders swept Northwest Christian 8-1 and 12-4 in Cascade Collegiate Conference softball action Saturday afternoon at James Park.
Southern Oregon concludes the 2012 season with a 22-18 overall record, 12-12 in conference play. Northwest Christian finishes the season with an 8-25 overall mark, 4-20 in the CCC.
After entering the weekend needing two hits to tie the SOU career mark, Moy homered in the opener to pull within one hit of the record and added three hits in the second game to finish with a record 171 hits.

Julia Willison (Reno, Nevada/McQueen) tallied three hits, including a home run, and the Raiders scored at least one run in each of the final four innings to pull away for a win.
Jordyn Kurtz (Tacoma, Wash./Stadium) picked up the win in her final SOU appearance, limiting the Beacons to one run on six hits in the complete-game victory. Brooke Davis took the loss for NCU, giving up a pair of unearned runs on three hits in four innings.
Southern Oregon scored its first two runs in the top of the fourth inning, taking advantage of a pair of NCU errors. With two outs,
Stephanie Vandenbusch (Fremont, Calif./American) and
Sierra Anderson (Portland, Ore./Sunset) reached on back-to-back errors and Willison followed with an RBI single through the left side.
Melissa Corn (Danville, Calif./Monte Vista) drove Anderson home with a single to left to make it 2-0.
The Raiders added a run in each of the fifth and sixth innings. Moy homered to left in the fifth and Willison homered to center in the top of the sixth. Southern Oregon scored four more runs in the top of the seventh.
Kara Kelsey (Middleton, N.J./Middletown North) led off with a single and stole second, advancing to third on a single up the middle by
Brooke Springer (Omak, Wash./Omak).
Moy was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and Kurtz hit a sacrifice fly to center to score Kelsey. Vandenbusch followed with a double to left center to score two more, and singles by Anderson and Willison made it 8-1 SOU.
Northwest Christian scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Gabby Stover singled through the right side, stole second and came in to score on Brooke Davis' single.

The Raiders tallied 15 hits, including multiple hits by six players, in pulling out the eight-run victory.
Karlie Stephens (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point) picked up the win with five scoreless innings, and Kurtz pitched the final two frames for SOU. Kalyssa Koontz took the loss for the Beacons, giving up six runs on nine hits in four innings.
Willison and Moy each totaled three hits, while Springer, Kurtz, Vandenbusch and
Alyssa Miller (Fairbanks, Alaska/West Valley) added two hits apiece. Chelsea Hannon finished with two hits for NCU.
The Raiders opened the scoring with four runs in the top of the second. Vandenbusch was hit by a pitch and WIllison doubled down the left field line. Corn singled to left to score the first run of the game, and one out later Miller hit an RBI single to left. Miller stole second and Corn came in to score on an error by the catcher, and two batters later Moy hit an RBI single to make it 4-0.
Southern Oregon added two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Kurtz doubled to center and Vandenbusch followed with an RBI double to right center. Anderson walked and Corn hit an RBI groundout to give SOU a 6-0 lead. Springer, Moy and Kurtz hit consecutive singles and Vandenbusch hit her second RBI double of the game.
Northwest Christian scored all four of its runs in the sixth. Hannon and Stover singled, and Brooke Davis homered to left to give the Beacons their first three runs. Three more singles made it 8-4 heading into the top of the seventh.
Two more hits and two more NCU errors led to four SOU runs in the top of the seventh. Miller singled up the middle and Springer reached on an error. Moy was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Vandenbusch advanced all the runners when she reached on another Beacon error. Anderson walked to force in another run, and Willison singled to right to drive in two more runs.
