OREGON CITY Craig Trask (Lebanon, Ore./Lebanon) and Jacob Abrams (The Dalles, Ore./The Dalles-Wahtonka) were the Southern Oregon University wrestling team's two placers Sunday at the Clackamas Community College Open.

Trask took fourth at 157 pounds and Abrams sixth at 184 for the sixth-ranked Raiders, who were competing without several of their top wrestlers.

Trask opened with a 5-1 decision over Simpson's Joseph Moure and got an injury default against teammate Lucas Randall (Hubbard, Ore./North Marion) into the semifinals. There, he lost a 10-0 major decision against Oregon State's Jordan Henrickson but bounced back in the consolation semis with a 6-1 defeat of OSU's Jay Tovey. Nic Moreno defeated him in the third-place match, 6-2.

Abrams started with a pin of Pacific University's Jacob Clark in 1:00, then won an 8-4 decision against North Idaho's Johnathen Dennis in the quarterfinals. Clackamas' Adrian Salas defeated him in the semis, 14-4, and OSU's Bryan Engdahl won a 9-7 decision against him in the consolation semis.

SOU, which won four classes Saturday in a 23-14 dual loss to Air Force, racked up 43 team points for ninth place. Oregon State won with 192.5 points, while Clackamas was second with 159 and North Idaho third with 129.

Only SOU's redshirts will compete next week at Pacific's Boxer Open in Forest Grove. The Raiders' next dual match is scheduled for Jan. 30 at Simpson.
