SOU puts 13 on academic all-conference football team

WHITEFISH, Mont. – Thirteen Southern Oregon University football players were named to the 2013 Frontier Academic All-Conference team, which was released by the conference office Monday.

Daniel Abernethy (Fullerton, Calif./Whittier Christian), Heston Altenbach (Coquille, Ore./Coquille), Daniel Breaux (Greenfield, Calif./Greenfield), Michael Bryant (Salem, Ore./Salem Academy), Austin Dodge (Vancouver, Wash./Skyview), Drew Gibson (Medford, Ore./North Medford), Steven Josephson (Eagle Point, Ore./Eagle Point), Trevor Kuyper (Redding, Calif./Central Valley), Josh Leff (San Clemente, Calif./San Clemente), Zach Marshall (Camas, Wash./Camas), Gannon Schroder (Sandy, Ore./Sandy), Austin Smith (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) and Teran Togia (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline) all made the squad.

The qualifying student-athletes needed to be at least sophomores in standing, maintain grade-point averages at 3.0 or better and be enrolled at their respective schools the last two semesters.

Carroll College led all schools with 53 selections.
