KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After coming home from Saturday's NAIA Championships with four All-Americans, the national office announced this week that the Southern Oregon University cross country teams landed four student-athletes on its Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list.

Eric Ghelfi (Redding, Calif./Redding Adventist Academy) and Hayden Teachout (Duvall, Wash./Cedarcrest) represented the Raider men's team, and Rebecca Lupescu (Portland, Ore./Westview) and Jessie Rozario (Rocklin, Calif./Del Oro) were recognized from the women's team.

In order to be eligible for the award, one must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 and junior or senior academic status.

Ghelfi, now a two-time cross country All-American, maintains a 3.89 GPA as a psychology major, while Teachout has a 4.0 GPA in communications.

Lupescu has a 3.51 in pre-physical therapy and Rozario a 3.59 with a focus on health and physical education. Both were a part of the SOU women's group that traveled to Lawrence, Kan., and placed 18th as a team.

Ghelfi and Lupescu made the list last year, too.
