Smith notches fifth double-double in SOU's rout of Pacific Union

ANGWIN, Calif. – Alexi Smith (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) posted her fifth double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Bree Park (Bellingham, Wash./Meridian) canned five 3-pointers, and the 15th-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team wore down a Pacific Union squad equipped with only five players in a 90-41 win Sunday afternoon.

Ashley Claussen (Scotts Valley, Calif./Santa Cruz) had 12 points for the Raiders (10-1 overall), whose 13 players all got on the board. They shot 56 percent overall (38-for-68) and 9-for-19 from 3-point range a day after going 10-for-20 from outside.

Pacific Union (1-9), which went to work without a bench for the first time this season, got 13 points apiece from Amber Washington and London Robinson.

Courtney West (Sydney, Australia/Port Hacking) added eight points and six rebounds, Kristen Schoenherr (Rainier, Wash./Rainier) had seven points and six boards, and Tiani Bradford (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City) had six points, six assists and three steals. Park went 5-for-6 from downtown, making her 9-for-12 on the weekend.

The Raiders never trailed and led 40-21 by halftime.

SOU also defeated the Pioneers 107-80 on Nov. 16 in Ashland.

The Raiders return home next Friday and Saturday to work on their 1-1 Cascade Conference record with tilts against Eastern Oregon (10-3, 2-0) and College of Idaho (2-9, 1-1). Both games will start at 5:30 p.m.
