Knights extend home-court ownership of SOU

PORTLAND – Warner Pacific's remained a house of horrors for the Southern Oregon men's basketball team Saturday night as the Knights were never challenged in an 80-42 win at Bart Valentine Court.

The 15th-ranked Raiders (10-2 overall, 1-1 Cascade Conference), who on Friday defeated 10th-ranked Concordia in overtime, were unable to solve the zone defense of Warner Pacific (9-2, 2-0) while shooting a season-worst 32 percent from the field. They trailed 43-19 by halftime.

Coletun Tarr scored 20 points to lead the Knights, who shot 10-for-22 from downtown and 31-for-56 overall. Ryan Parks made four 3-pointers to and scored 14 points off the bench, and Doug Thomas had 11 points and eight boards.

SOU was led by Jordan West (Gymea Bay, Australia/Port Hacking)'s 13 points and four rebounds, but he and Tim Weber (Roseburg, Ore./Roseburg) were the only ones to make more than two shots. Weber had seven points, six assists and five rebounds, but also five of SOU's 20 turnovers.

Justin Martin (Central Point, Ore./Crater) chipped in a couple 3-pointers off the bench. The Raiders were 4-for-19 as a team from 3-point range a season removed from going 2-for-22 from deep at WPC.

SOU has lost six straight on the Knights' home floor, its longest active road skid.

The Raiders will play one nonleague game – next Saturday at California Merced – before returning home for CCC contests Dec. 19-20 against Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
