KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven different Southern Oregon University teams landed on the NAIA Scholar-Team list for the 2014-15 academic year, the national office announced Wednesday.

To be considered for the honor, a team must have a minimum combined grade-point average of 3.0 or better for the academic year.

The Raider volleyball team topped all SOU squads in terms of GPA at 3.48. The Raider men's basketball team ranked highest within its sport, finishing second among all NAIA Div. II men's basketball teams at 3.41 after ranking first in 2013-14.

SOU women's soccer (3.45), women's basketball (3.41), women's track and field (3.28), softball (3.18) and men's track and field (3.10) were the other NAIA Scholar-Teams.

The SOU athletic department completed the school year with 89 student-athletes receiving academic all-conference recognition and a combined GPA of 3.2.

Missouri Baptist women's golf earned Scholar-Team of the Year accolades at 3.94.
