SOU drops nonleague contest at Concordia

PORTLAND – No longer a member of the NAIA, Concordia continued to terrorize the Cascade Conference and the Southern Oregon women's soccer team in a 2-0 Raiders loss Monday night at Tuominen Yard.

The Cavaliers, now a member of the NCAA Div. II Great Northwest Athletic Conference, scored in each half and held SOU (1-6-2 overall) to one shot on goal. It was their 21st consecutive win in the series against the Raiders.

Maddie Prehoda made a 21-yarder in the 28th minute and Ariel Kanable converted a penalty kick in the 88th for the Cavs, who improved to 4-1 overall after departing the CCC with 13 of the past 15 regular-season titles.

The shutout went to Nicole Franklin, who needed only to stop Yvonne Valencia's shot on goal. The Cavs have blanked three of their last four opponents.

SOU resumes CCC play this Friday and Saturday at Corban and Northwest Christian.
