PORTLAND – The most inexperienced Southern Oregon men's wrestling lineup in recent memory has needed to grind out more weight classes than usual, but the Raiders have still managed to clinch the program's 46th consecutive winning season Friday with a 29-6 dual win at Warner Pacific.

The 15th-ranked Raiders took the first six classes of the night against the 20th-ranked Knights, including the first four by decision until Tyler Cowger's pin at 149 pounds paved the way to an 18-0 start. Ryan McWatters (184) and Tanner Fischer (197) claimed the last of SOU's eight total wins by major decision, marking the only other bonus points of the dual.

SOU improved to 7-1 with Sunday's 3 p.m. head-to-head matchup at Simon Fraser in British Columbia up next.

Cowger, the sixth-ranked 149-pounder in the NAIA, finished off Charles Peterson in 3 minutes 30 seconds. He upped his dual record to 7-0, including two pins, two major decisions and two forfeits.

McWatters, ranked third at 184, also stayed perfect in seven dual bouts and has scored bonus points in six of them. He beat up Joe Dickinson, 13-3, and was followed by Fischer's 12-0 shutout of Casey Brown.

Five other Raiders worked tight decisions: 125-pounder Casey Coulter over Joshua Johnson (5-0), 133-pounder Matt Peterson over Alex Ursua (9-8), 141-pounder Trevor Hancock over Joshua Crager (4-3), 157-pounder Hunter Hodges over Robert Frasier (11-5), and 174-pounder Oscar Flores over Cesar Rodriguez Luna (11-6).

Jesse Johnson (165) and Stephen Wilbert (285) claimed WPC's only wins.

SOU has faced the Knights three times since they reinstated their program last season and outscored them a combined 111-15.
