Autumn Durand and Toria Bradford got the Southern Oregon women's basketball team back on the winning side Saturday as the second-ranked Raiders picked up their first win of the season against Montana Tech, 83-74, at the Twin Rivers Physical Therapy Classic.

The Raiders converted on 51 percent (32 of 63) of their attempts and held the Orediggers to 38-percent shooting (27 of 72). They also sustained a 25-18 edge in points off turnovers by forcing 19.

Durand led the Raiders with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, eight rebounds and three steals, while Bradford went 7-for-10 from the field and 2-for-2 from downtown for 17 points, four rebounds and two steals. Sydney Mullings added 13 points and eight rebounds and Tiani Bradford had 13 points, five assists and three steals.

The Raiders (1-1) led Tech (5-3) by as many as 22 points in the third quarter.

SOU went down 11-5 early but went on a 13-2 run in the final five minutes of the first quarter.

Durand and Toria Bradford scored eight points apiece in the second quarter, pushing the lead to 47-30 by halftime, and it was 54-32 when Durand and Mullings hit back-to-back jumpers in the third.

The Orediggers trimmed the advantage to 75-68 in the fourth quarter by hitting seven of their first nine shots. But, over the next five-plus minutes, the Raider defense clamped down while Durand registered six points and five rebounds in the period.

SOU remains in Idaho on Sunday for a 2 p.m. exhibition game at Boise State.
