Raiders drop regular-season finale against Corban

ASHLAND – Corban middles Alaina Gentili and Marandah Boeder tallied 15 kills apiece on 54 combined attacks, Amber Parked added 14 and the 22nd-ranked Warriors completed a season sweep of Southern Oregon with a 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-20 decision Saturday night at Mountain Avenue Gym.

The Warriors (21-5 overall, 17-3 Cascade Conference) hit .216 for the match and overcame 10 Raider blocks. Madison McLain's 51-assist night kept the attack in order.

Playing in their final home match, four-year starters Lauren McGowne and Emma Gasman led the Raiders (14-13, 11-9) again. McGowne had 39 assists and eight digs, and Gasman – who on Friday became the seventh player in team history to go over 1,000 kills in a career – had 14 kills, attacking at a clip of .303, and four blocks.

Nila Lukens recorded 11 kills on 32 attacks. Courtney Macklin added eight kills and six blocks, and Taylor Ristvedt had seven kills and five blocks.

Despite their efforts, the Raiders couldn't slow down Corban's 6-foot-2 middles. They've lost four straight overall and back-to-back meetings against the Warriors for the first time since 1998.

Regardless of the outcomes this weekend, they were already locked into the No. 5 seed in the Cascade Conference tournament. They'll travel to fourth-seeded College of Idaho for the quarterfinals and play at 7 p.m. Mountain Time on Tuesday. Regular-season champion Eastern Oregon will be the host of the final site for the semifinals and championship rounds.

Corban, which finished second in the standings for the first time since 1998, also has a bye to the semis.

The Warriors got 20 digs out of Haley Wells, while the Raiders were led in the back row by Ashlyn Flynn (17), Kiley Barcroft (15) and Emma Ryan (eight).
