Raiders beat up on Multnomah, 119-98

ASHLAND – Multnomah was neither picky nor time-consuming in selecting shots Saturday night, and Southern Oregon took advantage while reaching its highest point total since Nov. 4, 2013 at Mountain Avenue Gym.

The Raiders scored 62 points by halftime and finished up with a 119-98 win behind Ben DeSaulnier, who needed just 26 minutes to register 27 points on 7-of-11 shooting and nine rebounds. Carson Reid added a career-high 14 points off the bench and eleven different Raiders converted multiple field goals as they improved to 15-8 overall and 9-4 in the Cascade Conference.

Darius Redrick had team-highs of 20 points and nine assists for the Lions (5-18, 2-12), who hit 11 of their 41 attempts from 3-point range, many of which were either contested or taken well beyond the arc. In their last four games, they've taken a total of 183 3-pointers.

They shot 42 percent from the field, while the Raiders posted a 54-percent clip at 45-of-84 overall and 13-of-32 from downtown. SOU has been over 50 percent in five of its last six games heading into Sunday's 3 p.m. matchup with Warner Pacific.

Reid, who went 5-of-7 from the field, led a cast of reserves that contributed a total of 55 points. Justin Martin hit four 3s for his 12, Conor Carroll hit three 3s for his nine, Jordan Hunt had eight points in his return from injury, and Kerry Cook and Beau Hamilton had career-highs of six points.

Kenny Meyer added eight points, nine assists and six rebounds, Tate Hoffman scored 11, Tristen Holmes totaled nine points and five assists, and Jason Simmrin contributed nine points and five boards in his first start.

Moe Keita went 8-of-15 with 18 points, 14 boards and five blocks for the Lions without taking a single 3-pointer.
