ASHLAND
– The Southern Oregon men's soccer team's remarkable Cascade Conference road streak is finally over, but keeping their home win streak alive will be key to the Raiders' title aspirations.

Following last week's split that put the Raiders (5-6 overall) in second place in the CCC with a 5-1 record, they're back at Raider Stadium on Friday and Saturday to play Eastern Oregon (5-3-1 overall, 2-2-1 CCC) and Warner Pacific (0-4, 0-4). Both contests are slated for 7 p.m. starts.

Last Week in Review: SOU's 2-0 win Friday at Northwest Christian was its fifth straight overall and 10th straight conference road victory dating back to 2015. Ahmon Afenegus put the Raiders in front in the 16th minute with his first goal of the season, Sean McManamon tacked on in the 66th, and the defense limited NCU to a single shot on goal. On Saturday, however, both streaks ended as fifth-ranked Corban stayed perfect by taking down the Raiders in a 2-0 decision. The matchup between the last two unbeaten teams in CCC play swung in Corban's favor during the 25th minute on Jesse Martin's goal, and Julio Miranda put it out of reach in the 78th minute with another. The Warriors are the only team in the conference from which SOU has never taken a point.

Briefly:
– The Raiders are 8-5-2 at home in CCC action in their three seasons. This year, they've defeated Multnomah (1-0) and Walla Walla (9-0). Of SOU's four remaining games at Raider Stadium, three will be against teams with winning records.
– The Raiders had not trailed in CCC play until their game at Corban. They've outscored opponents 17-3, outshot them 48-8, and allowed just 12 shots on goal.
Travis Hopkins (4 goals, 1 assist), Carlos Magana (3 goals) and Mitchell Pinney (3 goals) lead the team in points, though Hopkins and Kelly Gieber (1 goal, 3 assists) are the only Raiders to have recorded points in more than two games.
– In the corrections department, Brendan Allen has retroactively been credited with the assist of McManamon's goal at NCU, after it was originally attributed to Jared Delaney. The point was the first of the season for Allen, making him the 15th different Raider to score.

About Eastern Oregon:
– Picked to finish ninth in the conference, the Mountaineers are, like the Raiders, in their third year of existence as a program. They're operating under a first-year head coach, Kenny Huber, who was previously on staff at Olivet Nazarene (Ill.).
– The Raiders won last year's matchup in La Grande, 1-0, on an own goal in the 35th minute. They also took a 1-0 decision in Ashland during the 2015 season.
– The Mountaineers have outscored opponents 15-13, led by Julian Wells' three goals and four assists. They're generating over 16 shots per game.

About Warner Pacific:
– Troy Ready, formerly an assistant at WPC and Corban, is the Knights' first-year head coach. Due to poor air quality that forced two cancelations, he didn't have the benefit of a single non-conference game before jumping into CCC play, where the Knights have been outscored 10-1.
– SOU's 1-0 win last year against the Knights in Portland was the product of Jared Delaney's 73rd-minute header, assisted by Paul Matyas. SOU lost the inaugural meeting, 4-1, at Raider Stadium in 2015.
– Javier Sanchez owns WPC's lone goal, scored in last week's 2-1 overtime loss to Carroll. Keeper Erdal Barkay has made 12 saves compared to 10 goals allowed.
