GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Three forfeits were too much for the Southern Oregon women's wrestling team to overcome in a 23-19 loss to University of Regina, but the Raiders bounced back with a 20-15 win against University of Providence in back-to-back duals Tuesday at the McLaughlin Center.

Regina – a school based in Saskatchewan, Canada – was spotted 15 points but had to break a 19-all tie in the final bout, 191-pounder Jessica Rabet's technical fall over Latiana Tauaese. SOU and Providence only contested four classes – the Raiders forfeited one match and the Argos two – but, overall, the Raiders won six of 10 matches on the day.

SOU's dual record went to 3-5.

Against Regina, wins by fall for Olivia Ioppolo (116 pounds) and Alejandra Rodriguez (130) were interrupted only by Anesia Ramirez's win by technical fall at 123, giving SOU a 14-5 lead. It was 19-9 after Sienna Ramirez pinned Rachel Evans at 143 pounds, but two forfeits tied the score.

Rodriguez and Ramirez also had SOU's wins against Providence. Rodriguez notched her second pin of the day – and ninth of the season, against Kaylynn Hixenbaugh, and Ramirez worked Jenna Awana for a 12-2 technical fall.

Ramirez's pin against Regina was her team-leading 11th.

The Raiders compete next on Saturday at the Menlo Invite in Atherton, Calif.
