KLAMATH FALLS – Southern Oregon's third time around against New Hope looked a lot like the first two, as the 22
nd-ranked Raiders booked a 102-45 win over the Deacons on Friday in the Lithia-Oregon Tech Classic at Danny Miles Court.
The difference this time was that the Raiders (6-1 overall) finally discovered their shooting touch. Nine different players connected from deep, they combined to go 12-of-29, and they shot a season-best 56-percent from the field with a 65-percent clip in the first half that led to a 56-20 lead at the break.
Junior forward
Tate Hoffman shot 5-of-7 from the field to amass 14 points and four assists, junior forward
Jordan Hunt shot 5-of-6 for 12 points, and junior wing
Kaj Bansen hit three triples off the bench en route to 11 points.
The Raiders entered the day having made 27 3-pointers on a lowly 25-percent clip through their first four contests. Against the Deacons, they hit at 41 percent.
Teron Bradford helped the cause by making both of his 3s for eight points.
Conor Carroll chipped in seven points and five rebounds and
Josh Washington had six points, nine boards and two blocks.
The Raiders also out-rebounded the Deacons 54-22.
They can count on a test at 3 p.m. Saturday, facing defending Cal Pac Conference champion Antelope Valley (Calif.) in their final game of the Classic.
