OLYMPIA, Wash. – With help from 11 different shooters, the Southern Oregon University men's basketball team matched its highest 3-point make total in the last 20 years in a 107-76 win against Evergreen (Wash.) on Friday night at the Costantino Recreation Center.
On the heels of a loss to Corban in which they scored 61 points, the Raiders (14-7 overall, 4-6 Cascade Conference) put up 63 and hit 10 3-pointers in the first half against the Geoducks, finishing 16-of-34 from outside.
Brad Allen and
Tate Hoffman hit three apiece. Allen went 5-of-6 from the field for 13 points and six rebounds, and Hoffman shot 6-of-10 for a game-high 18 points and three boards.
They were joined in double figures by
Teron Bradford (12 points, 3 assists, 3 steals),
Tristen Holmes (11 points, 7 assists),
Jordan Hunt (11 points, 5 rebounds) and
Aaron Borich (10 points, 2 steals).
In registering their highest point total this season – and hitting the century mark for the sixth time – the Raiders ended a four-game losing streak. They shot 55 percent overall from the field (39-of-71) and 29 of their makes were assisted, as
Tez Allen added nine points, five assists and five rebounds.
A 15-2 Raiders spurt put them in control, 29-13, nine minutes into the game. The lead was 25 by half and up to 36 midway through the second.
Evergreen (5-13 overall) dropped to 1-9 in the CCC. SOU has won 16 straight in the head-to-head series.
The Raiders will finish the trip at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Northwest (Wash.).
