PORTLAND – The 10th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team hit the 20-win mark for the fifth time this decade with a 25-10, 25-16, 25-22 win at Multnomah in Cascade Conference play on Saturday night.
SOU registered a .500 attacking average, its highest in at least 10 years, with 39 kills and seven errors on 64 attacks.
Elliott Cook had nine kills without an error,
Makayla Hoyt had six without an error, and
Taylor Ristvedt went for a match-high 10 on 17 attempts.
The Raiders (20-3 overall, 11-2 CCC) have now swept nine opponents in conference play and won seven of their last eight matches. They've also taken over sole possession of second place, thanks to seventh-ranked Corban's loss on Saturday to Northwest (Wash.), and are one win behind first-place Eastern Oregon.
They'll have a key homestand next week, playing Northwest Christian on Thursday and Corban on Friday. Both matches start at 7 p.m. inside Lithia Motors Pavilion.
Multnomah fell to 2-13 overall and 1-13 in the CCC.
Hannah Bogatin orchestrated the blistering attack with 23 assists.
Myla Norvell had four service aces, and
Emma Ryan pulled in a match-high 10 digs.
Shelby Young contributed four kills on five attacks and
Nila Lukens had five on seven swings.
