LA GRANDE – Eastern Oregon won four consecutive matches in the latter half of its dual against Southern Oregon on Friday, taking a 22-15 dual between the Cascade Conference men's wrestling rivals at Quinn Coliseum.

Freshman 125-pounder Lorenzo Vasquez got the Raiders going with a second-round pin of Hunter Nees for his fifth consecutive dual win and third straight by fall. After a pair of Mountaineers wins tied it, Matt Peterson (149 pounds) and JJ Talavera (157) earned back-to-back decisions to put SOU back up 12-6.

The Raiders were quiet after that during an EOU run started by Josh Pine's major decision over Nick Peterson at 165. Keegan Mulhill, the 19th-ranked 174-pounder in the NAIA, ran up the score in a 19-4 technical fall against Fabian Miranda-Walls, Marco Retano topped Tanner Sallee (184) 8-4, and 12th-ranked Ryan Redford earned another bonus-point victory over Josh Hammers (197), 9-1.

Raider heavyweight Tanner Clark finished the night with a 3-0 decision over Cade Woodward.

Talavera improved to 5-1 in dual action with his win.

As a team, the Raiders went to 3-3. They'll be at the Spokane Open on Sunday.
