SOU sweeps in 47-1 win against Warner Pacific

PORTLAND – With a sweep of four contested classes and the help of six forfeits, the Southern Oregon University women's wrestling team ran up its most lopsided win ever on Tuesday night against Warner Pacific, 47-1 at C.C. Perry Gym.

The Raiders improved to 9-7 in duals and will have their last of the season on Feb. 20 at top-ranked Menlo (Calif.). Before then, they'll head to Atlanta to compete at the WCWA National Championships on Friday and Saturday.

Two Raiders won by fall: 123-pounder Kirra Saunders, who pinned Kaitlyn Funai in 2:47, and 170-pounder Latiana Tauaese, who took Taj Vierra in 1:11.

Anesia Ramirez (130 pounds) wrapped up a 17-2 technical fall victory against Trynadii Rocha with 45 seconds left in the first round, and Olivia Pizano (155) shut out Zion Vierra, 6-0, in her decision.
