EUGENE – The eighth-ranked Southern Oregon men's basketball team scored its most lopsided win over Northwest Christian since 1980 on Friday night, 94-66 behind
Teron Bradford's 20 points, six rebounds and two steals at the Morse Event Center.
Thirteen different Raiders logged a made bucket and they collectively held the Beacons to a season-low clip of 31 percent from the field to stop their winning streak at four games.
Bradford's output was a season-high in Cascade Conference play. The sophomore guard shot 6-of-7 from the field and was perfect on three 3-point attempts in the opening stanza, pushing the Raiders to a 17-point halftime lead.
Tate Hoffman checked in with 15 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Raiders, who won for the 11th time in 12 outings to up their record to 19-5 overall and 13-3 in the CCC. While shooting 49 percent from the field with 10 3-point makes, they also amassed just nine turnovers – marking the eighth straight game they've committed 10 or fewer.
Jordan Hunt went for nine points, four rebounds and three blocks.
Brad Allen recorded each of his seven points and five offensive rebounds in the second half, and
Josh Washington added seven more points off the bench.
Kiefer Edwards and
Conor Carroll scored six apiece.
Up 22-15 with eight minutes left in the first half, back-to-back 3s from Bradford and Hunt started at 26-16 spurt that brought the Raiders comfortably into the break. In the second half, they led by as many as 34.
It was a sharp contrast to the teams' meeting three weeks ago in Ashland, which the Raiders pulled out 77-74 after NCU (13-12, 8-7 CCC) missed a shot to tie at the buzzer.
They'll attempt to complete the weekend sweep Saturday at Corban, tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
