Borich lights up Warriors as No. 8 SOU collects 20th victory

SALEM Aaron Borich left Corban's home court a villain again Saturday night, which meant more good news for the eighth-ranked Southern Oregon men's basketball team.

The C.E. Jeffers Center – the site of Borich's buzzer-beating 3-pointer that sent the Raiders to last year's Cascade Conference Tournament championship game – saw the senior guard stick a few more daggers in the Warriors and total 25 points in SOU's 86-78 Cascade Conference win.

With their perfect road trip, the Raiders upped their record to 20-5 overall and 14-3 in the Cascade Conference – hitting the 20-win mark for the seventh time in eight seasons and clinching no worse than third place in the CCC standings with three games left to play. They'll enter Tuesday night's contest at Oregon Tech one game ahead of third-place Northwest (Wash.) (11-4) and three ahead of the Owls (9-6).

Each of the Raiders' other four starters joined Borich in double figures as they led from start to finish to collect their fifth straight win and 12th in 13 games. Teron Bradford compiled 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Tez Allen had 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists, Tate Hoffman added 13 points and five boards and Jordan Hunt went for 12 and nine.

Borich finished 8-of-14 from the field and 6-of-9 from 3, matching his career-highs in both scoring and 3-point makes. After SOU's lead was cut to nine with eight minutes to play, he stuck back-to-back triples to open it back up.

Up 74-64 with 3:15 left, he hit another jumper that effectively finished the deal.

The Raiders got solid production off the bench for the second night in a row from Brad Allen, who totaled five points and six rebounds. He also had one of the Raiders' 11 makes from beyond the arc, where they shot 44 percent collectively.

The Warriors' bench accounted for 54 of their points, led by Tyler Wadleigh's 19 to go with five assists. Dominique Lawrence contributed nine points and 10 boards.

Their starters were held to 10 first-half points as SOU took a 40-28 lead into halftime.

SOU committed only eight turnovers for the second night in a row and has now been at 10 or fewer in nine straight games.
