The USA Women's Softball National Team announced Wednesday night that its upcoming stops on the "Stand Beside Her" tour – including one to Eugene, where the team was slated to play Southern Oregon University on March 18 – have been postponed amid the latest COVID-19 updates.
"While we understand the disappointment that may come with this decision, this decision was made in the best interest of the health and safety of our athletes, staff, fans and the softball community," USA Softball said in a statement. "We will continue to monitor the situation surrounding the COVID-19 and will make necessary changes to keep us all safe and healthy. As the situation continues to develop, USA Softball will do our best to continue to keep our community informed."
The Raiders, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA with a 23-3 record, have their next scheduled Cascade Conference series March 20-21 against British Columbia in Ashland.
