Addie, Hernandez tally in SOU's 2-0 win at College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho – The Southern Oregon University men's soccer team banked three more Cascade Conference points, scoring once in each half to earn a quality 2-0 win over College of Idaho on Friday at Simplot Stadium.

Izaiha Bruce assisted Noah Addie for the first goal in the 31st minute, and Renee Resendez assisted Moises Hernandez with a free kick in the 80th while the Raiders manufactured their fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Raiders – who two days ago were also gifted a forfeit win of next week's scheduled game against Bushnell due to COVID-19 issues within the Beacons' program – shot to 11-2 overall and 7-2 in the CCC, staying three points behind first-place Oregon Tech.

College of Idaho fell to 6-3-1 and 4-3-1.

The Raiders were out-shot, 14-12, for the first time in 27 games dating back to 2019. But the Yotes put only four of those on goal and Liam Kalhagen saved all of them.

The Yotes had only been shut out once previously in CCC play.

Addie's goal was his second of the season and Hernandez's was his first.

The Raiders will conclude their road trip at 4 p.m. Saturday at Eastern Oregon, which dropped a 2-0 decision to Oregon Tech on Friday. They have four games left in the regular season.
