ASHLAND – The No. 5-ranked Corban volleyball team stayed on course towards a Cascade Conference title with a 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 defeat of Southern Oregon on Saturday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.
Avari Ridgway's 14-kill and four-block performance set the tone for the Warriors, who improved to 23-1 overall and 17-1 in the CCC. They maintained a one-win lead over second-place Eastern Oregon in the standings with four matches left to play.
The sweep was their 13th in conference play and came after the Raiders (12-11, 7-11) took them to five sets in the first matchup.
They avoided extra work this time around by attacking at a .311 average as a team. Rylee Troutman put down 10 kills on 22 swings and had 13 digs. Ainslie Ridgway contributed nine kills on 16 attempts without an error.
The Raiders were held to a .093 attack but got 11 kills from
Simone Gordon on 20 tries.
Taylor Russell had 21 assists and
Karina Oliveira collected 17 digs.
SOU will be on the road next week, visiting EOU on Friday and College of Idaho on Saturday.
