LA GRANDE – Cambree Scott had 10 kills and assisted three blocks to lead No. 12-ranked Eastern Oregon to a 25-17, 25-14, 25-19 Cascade Conference win against Southern Oregon on Friday night at Quinn Coliseum.
Scott delivered on a .625 attacking average, leading the Mountaineers (22-5 overall, 17-2 CCC) to a .257 clip as a team. They also had nine blocks in sinking the SOU's average to .066.
With the win and No. 7-ranked Corban's loss to Evergreen (Wash.), EOU moved into a first-place tie with the Warriors.
Hailey Van Well posted a team-high seven kills for the Raiders (12-12, 7-12) and
Simone Gordon had six.
Taylor Russell went for 10 assists and 10 digs, and
Carol Melo assisted four of the team's seven blocks.
The Raiders finish their road trip at 4 p.m Pacific Time on Saturday at College of Idaho. They need to win all three of their remaining matches, and considerable help elsewhere around the conference, to avoid being eliminated from postseason contention.
