ASHLAND – Oregon Tech built a 16-point lead in the opening 10 minutes and never looked back in a 77-61 win over Southern Oregon to start Cascade Conference play Tuesday night at Lithia Motors Pavilion.
SOU (2-5) started flat – misfiring on 21 of 29 attempts in the first half – and stayed flat offensively with only
Joe Juhala reaching 10 points.
Mason Whittaker recorded eight points and
Elijah Jackson had seven as the Raiders finished up at 38 percent from the field.
The Owls (3-4) put five players in double figures, led by Keegan Shivers, who hit all three of his 3-point attempts in the first half and finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Jamison Guerra came off the bench with 10 points, six assists and two steals, helping the Owls put up a 48-percent mark. Kaison Faust recorded 12 points and five rebounds, Garret Albrecht had 11 and five, and Joey Potts had 10 and five.
OIT collected 15 offensive rebounds and had a cumulative advantage of 46-25 on the glass.
The Raiders have been held under 70 points in three straight games.
They'll host a non-conference game against Antelope Valley (Calif.) at 3 p.m. Friday.
