ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University women's wrestling team is back at the NAIA National Invitational, a year after it was called off the day before it was supposed to begin.

This time, the Raiders are there under (arguably) even stranger circumstances considering they'll be competing for the first time all season. Final tournament brackets were released Thursday night, and they include 11 Raiders.

Wrestling begins at 7 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday and runs through Saturday in Jamestown, N.D. The top-six finishers in each bracket will be considered All-Americans, and those who place seventh and eighth will get honorable mention.

SOU – which is No. 6 in the team rankings despite its lack of action – has two seeded wrestlers: Esthela Trevino, No. 4 at 101 pounds, and Raider all-time wins leader Sienna Ramirez, who is No. 8 at 155. Trevino, a transfer from Umpqua Community College, is one of four entries making their Raider debuts.

A total of 30 teams will be represented. SOU competed at the inaugural NAIA Invitational in 2019 and finished eighth in the team standings. The Raiders were No. 3 in the rankings going into last year's tournament.
