ASHLAND – Lauren Quirke and the Southern Oregon University softball team garnered weekly Cascade Conference accolades after locking up their third consecutive CCC regular-season championship over the weekend at Carroll (Mont.).

Quirke, SOU's star senior third baseman and pitcher, was voted the CCC's Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Player of the Week. The No. 1-ranked Raiders, now 41-3 overall and 24-1 in circuit games entering the final weekend of the regular season, were named the CCC Under Armour Team of the Week.

At the plate, Quirke went 12-for-17 during the four-game set, and in the series' three CCC games she went 10-for-13 with 11 RBIs and seven runs scored. She ripped three doubles and her eighth and ninth home runs of the season in the first two games alone.

In the pitching circle, she pitched a five-inning, four-hit shutout in Game 2 of the series to improve to 14-2. She got a no-decision in the non-conference series finale, in which she allowed two earned runs over five frames. Her ERA settled in at 1.56.

Through 44 games, Quirke tops the CCC leaderboard in batting average (.483) and RBIs (57) and ranks second in home runs.

The Raiders will host Corban for a four-game series on Friday and Saturday. They've also clinched hosting rights for the CCC Tournament, which is scheduled for May 7-9.
