OLYMPIA, Wash. –
Tez Allen was the face of Southern Oregon's offensive outburst as the Raiders raced to a 103-65 Cascade Conference win against Evergreen on Saturday afternoon at the Costantino Recreation Center.
Allen, a 6-foot-5 junior, scored a career-high 30 points on 13-of-18 shooting.
K'wan Carter added a season-high 20 on 8-of-9 accuracy as the Raiders (6-8 overall, 3-3 CCC) shot 67 percent from the field (41-of-61) – their best mark since hitting 73 percent against Evergreen in 2015.
They've won back-to-back games for the first time this season heading into Sunday's 3 p.m. contest at Northwest (Wash.). The Geoducks dropped to 1-9 overall and 1-5 in the CCC.
Three more Raiders joined Allen and Carter in double figures:
Atmar Mundu (14 points),
Elijah Jackson (13) and
Josh Meyer (10). Meyer and
Mason Whittaker both added four assists.
Allen's breakout was the most encouraging development for the Raiders. After averaging 14 points last spring, the All-CCC performer had only hit that number once this season before Saturday. He hit three 3-pointers while burying his previous career-high of 25.
Carter got his 20 in his first start with two Raiders unavailable in COVID-19 protocols. He's shot 12-of-13 combined in his last two outings, and Mundu hit double figures for the third straight game.
Tre Carlisle and
Jayson McMillan chipped in six points each.
The Raiders never trailed and were up 30-6 just seven minutes into the matchup.
LaBrandon Price scored 18 points to lead Evergreen. Outside of his effort, the rest of the Geoducks combined to shoot 34 percent.
