ASHLAND – Sienna Ramirez and the No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon University women's wrestling team swept the Cascade Conference's weekly awards Monday after a big showing at the U.S. Marine Corps/NWCA National Dual Meet Championships.

Ramirez, a senior NAIA champion from Lakewood, Wash., was voted the CCC's WVT Laboratory Women's Wrestler of the Week after defeating four top-15 opponents at the tournament in Louisville, Ky. The Raiders were named the CCC Under Armour Team of the Week after going 3-1 and taking third place.

Their weekend included convincing dual wins over No. 5 Grand View (Iowa), No. 7 Cumberlands (Ky.) and No. 20 Brewton-Parker (Ga.). Their only loss was in the semifinals to No. 2 Life (Ga.), the eventual tournament champion.

In a personal 4-0 weekend, Ramirez – the NAIA's top-ranked 155-pounder – defended her post by defeating No. 2 Destinee Rivera, No. 7 Madison Diaz, No. 12 India Page and No. 15 Kailee Godinez.

SCHEDULE CHANGES: The Raiders announced changes to their upcoming men's and women's schedules after Saturday's scheduled duals against Life Pacific (Calif.) and Simpson (Calif.) were canceled.

On the men's side, Simpson will instead come to Ashland on Friday to be part of a tripleheader. The Redhawks will face Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) at 4 p.m. and SOU at 5:30 p.m.; the Raiders and Embry-Riddle will match up in the finale at 7 p.m.

The Raider women's team will complete at Saturday's Oregon Classic in Redmond. Before the dual cancelations, only a small contingent was slated to attend.
