KLAMATH FALLS – Another fast start against Oregon Tech didn't carry over for the Southern Oregon volleyball team in a 20-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-19 loss on Tuesday night at Danny Miles Court.
Outside hitters Molly Grace (13 kills) and Kaylin Talonen (17 kills) combined for 30 kills on a .390 attacking average as the Owls (12-10 overall, 9-7 Cascade Conference) swept the season series and dropped SOU (16-7, 10-6) to a three-way tie for third place. They lost the first set and won the next three for the second consecutive matchup.
The Raiders had five blocks in a dominant first frame but only five over the next three combined.
Carol Melo assisted six of them and tallied seven kills.

Hailey Van Well led the team with 17 kills, and setter
Hannah Randall had 36 assists, 11 digs and three kills. The rest of the team combined for 23 kills compared to 20 attacking errors. The Raiders' .106 attacking average was their second-lowest of the season, and the Owls held them to it with just five blocks.
Kayla Neidigh posted a team-high 15 digs and
Taylor Russell had 10.
Simone Gordon assisted five blocks.
The Raiders are on the road this weekend, playing Friday at No. 3-ranked Corban and Saturday at Bushnell.
