ASHLAND – Southern Oregon freshman running back Gunner Yates has been voted the Frontier Conference/Erck Hotels Football Offensive Player of the week after scoring three touchdowns on Saturday at Eastern Oregon.

During the Raiders' 42-14 win in La Grande, Yates had a 48-yard touchdown run and a one-yard touchdown reception to break the game open in the second quarter. In the fourth, he tacked on a five-yard TD rush.

The Coquille product netted 91 rushing yards on 13 carries – becoming the first Raider since 2019 with multiple rushing TDs in a game , and the first since 2018 to score three total TDs in a game.

On the Frontier leaderboard, Yates ranks third in yards per carry (5.6) and seventh in rushing yards per game (58.0).

He and the Raiders (2-3) are back home on Saturday to face Montana Western at 1 p.m.
