LCSC downs Raiders in 4

LEWISTON, Idaho – Southern Oregon forced a fourth set but got no further in a 25-16, 25-22, 18-25, 25-17 loss to Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) in Cascade Conference action Friday night at the P1FCU Activity Center.

Grecia Ung Enriquez and Lisi Langi posted 13 kills each and Cassidy Nelson had 12 for the Warriors (11-6 overall, 7-5 CCC) as they attacked at a .297 team average, the second-highest for an SOU opponent this season.

The loss put the No. 23-ranked Raiders (13-6, 7-5) in a five-way tie for third place with LSCS, Bushnell, Evergreen (Wash.) and Oregon Tech. They'd swept the Warriors handily in the teams' first meeting but were shorthanded again, missing outside hitter Mylena Testoni for the fourth straight match, right-side hitter Hannah Stadstad for the third straight match, and setter Taylor Russell.

Hailey Van Well carried the Raiders with 16 kills on 44 swings and Simone Gordon attacked efficiently with 11 kills on 23 attempts. Carol Melo and Katie Vroman both had nine kills and Trinity Atuatasi led the team with 12 digs.

SOU will try to rebound Saturday at last-place Walla Walla (Wash.) with an 8 p.m. match.
