McMINNVILLE – While getting some action for its backups, top-ranked Southern Oregon won five of seven contested weight classes and accepted three forfeits in a 35-10 dual victory over Linfield's first-year women's wrestling team Sunday at Ted Wilson Gymnasium.
Averie Stockwell, a 143-pound freshman, pinned Klaira Flatt in her first dual outing and No. 3-ranked 170-pounder
Joye Levendusky needed just 39 seconds to pin Kami Hart.
Bella Amaro, a No. 8-ranked freshman at 136 pounds, pitched in bonus points with a 12-0 technical fall over Brielle Brick. Two more Raiders won by decision –
Mia Bonotan 8-0 against Riley Omonaka at 123, and
Sage Teixeira 7-2 against Elena Kroll at 155.
Diamond Lopez (101),
Liv Villanueva (109) and
Ramona Jimenez (191) were forfeit victors.
For Linfield, Paulina Fabela-Santos (116) won by fall and Ayan Medina (130) registered a technical fall.
Two days after a convincing 36-8 win over No. 8 Menlo (Calif.), the Raiders improved to 2-0. They're off until traveling to Louisville, Ky., for the WCWA National Duals on Jan. 7-8.
